A pre-symposium training event will be organised a day before the symposium, on Thursday, 21st April 2022, in collaboration with the Langnet network and the UEF Doctoral Programme in Social and Cultural Encounters. The topic of the event is Tutkijan kuva [Researcher’s Image]. The event consists of a lecture by Professor Camilla Lindholm and Dr Johanna Isosävi, a collaborative workshop, and a text seminar for doctoral researchers in Translation Studies.
The lecture and the workshop are open to anyone interested. Text seminar participants are requested to submit a text (a draft chapter, article, research plan etc.) of max. 15 pages in advance, which will then be discussed in the text seminar and commented on by senior researchers and other doctoral researchers.
The lecture and the workshop will be organised in Finnish. The working languages of the text seminar are Finnish and English, and texts can be submitted in Finnish, Swedish or English.

Please register for the event by using this form even if you only plan to participate in some sections of the programme.
The deadline for registration is 31 March 2022. The texts to be discussed in the seminar must be uploaded to the event’s Moodle site by 6 April 2022.
The event is free of charge, and participants will be able to attend either at the UEF Joensuu campus or online. Those participating in the text seminar can apply for a (partial) reimbursement of their travel expenses. More information on the practical arrangements, including the Zoom and Moodle links, will be sent to registered participants by email.
